Your Coach

With 16 years experience as a surf coach, Alex is a level 4 BSA coach, ASI qualified Master Surf Coach and holds a qualification with NARS (National Aquatic Rescue Standard) for Lifesaving.  Raised in Cornwall, UK (which has surprisingly good surf for those that do not mind the cold), Alex was introduced to surfing by his father and was instantly bitten by the surfing bug.

Alex has spent over half of his life seeking out great waves in warm climates, teaching surfers all over the world. After working in the UK for a while, Alex fled the cold and surfed and coached his way around the globe, visiting Portugal, Australia, Canary Islands, Mexico, Peru, Maldives, Costa Rica, Indonesia, Fiji, USA, Sri Lanka, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, Tunisia, Morocco, Maldives, Hawaii, Nicaragua, El Salvador and all over Europe.  Over the years Alex has developed a reputation for being in the right place at the right time.

Having spent most of his coaching/guiding career working for a variety of schools and locations, Alex has now taken the best elements of these coaching techniques to create a unique and effective style. Everyone learns differently and being able to customize and adapt lessons to suit the individual is the best possible way to achieve results.

“I love surfing and I really enjoy helping people surf better. It’s really satisfying being the person that makes the difference in someone’s surfing life. Nothing beats the feeling of seeing someone get the best wave of their life and knowing that you were a part of that success. I am lucky enough to live ‘a surfers dream’ and sharing the surfing experience is something I truly enjoy.”
